Stroll Tutorial

The Basics

Stroll is a sophisticated utility that helps you find your way back to where you've been. It's useful when you're not in need of a map. It is a navigational app where you can save spots (locations) and then find your way back to them. Stroll uses an arrow and a distance indicator to direct you to your saved spot. Direction and distance are continuously updated. Stroll is designed for outdoor use and works with iPhone 3GS+ and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G models.

Saving Spots - An Outdoor Activity

To accurately save a spot you need to be outdoors with a clear view of the sky so that your device can receive good GPS data. (You do not necessarily need a network connection.) If your GPS signal is not accurate enough, Stroll will prompt you to wait for a more accurate GPS signal.

Tutorial

Save a New Spot

Just press the Set Destination button in the Stroll view and you have just saved a Stroll spot! Of course there are a few buts, you need to be outdoors and you need a clear view of the sky so that you are able to receive good GPS signals.

Once you have a activated spot, Stroll will point you towards that spot and show how far away it is. When you get within 10 meters of the spot Stroll will tell you that by displaying "You're here!" in the distance display. Stroll will also perform a short vibration when you arrive at the spot if you have selected this in the Settings view.

Rename a Spot

Go into My Spots view by pressing the My Spots button and then press the Edit button. This will open the My Spots view in edit mode. Open the Rename Spot view by pressing the detail disclosure button (a blue button with a chevron image on it) for the spot whos address you wish to edit. Edit your spot name and when you're done, just return by pressing the My Spots button. The new spot name is now saved.
